CAP Has Greatly Improved Mobility Services & Saved Over $52,000 Through Grudi Advantage’s Managed Mobility Solution

The Community Action Partnership is Lancaster County’s largest anti‑poverty organization, offering an array of services that interrupt intergenerational poverty and assist families at every age and place in life. CAP is committed to creating innovative, person‑centered initiatives, including social enterprise businesses, to augment its many long-standing and successful anti-poverty programs, advancing the social and economic mobility of families. Its mission is empowering community, driving action and building partnerships to eliminate poverty.

CAP offers 10 highly successful programs that fall into four main categories: Education & Childhood Development, Household Stability, Health & Nutrition and Safety & Empowerment. The leadership of CAP understood that optimizing and coordinating numerous programs and services with many moving parts required a more robust, efficient and cost-effective mobility solution. The Grudi Advantage program through Lancaster Chamber and Grudi Associates was the ideal option because of the capabilities and advantages it offered.

The Challenge

While Grudi Advantage offers comprehensive Managed Mobility, Managed Telecom & Managed IT solutions, CAP leadership decided that mobility issues were the highest priority to address. The Grudi team of mobility experts performed an analysis to determine CAP’s mobility challenges, including

  • Lacking an efficient, effective mobility management system
  • Significantly overpaying for mobility, including data
  • Having many unused lines and devices, creating unnecessary costs and confusion
  • Managing and paying for three separate mobility accounts
  • Lacking a good inventory of lines and devices
  • Not having optimal mobility plans

  • Insufficient invoice management/tracking/coding, hindering cost allocation
  • Charging expenses to the wrong internal programs
  • Needing a better procurement system
  • Lacking sufficient mobility cybersecurity
  • CAP staff spending far too much time dealing with mobility issues, distracting them from core business issues

The Solution

CAP became aware that, as a Lancaster Chamber member, it was eligible for Grudi Advantage (, an exclusive Managed Mobility, Telecom & IT program that offers significant benefits to members and to Lancaster Chamber. To address CAP’s mobility challenges, Grudi did the following:

  • Implemented Grudi Advantage’s comprehensive Managed Mobility ( solution.
  • Performed a complete inventory of lines and devices
  • Completed a mobility needs assessment — plans, devices, systems and more
  • Identified unused and unneeded lines and devices
  • Assessed the existing mobility plans and identified optimal options
  • Communicated extensively with CAP staff to confirm device and line needs
  • Reviewed and approved eliminations and changes with CAP leadership
  • Initiated and managed all changes, confirming there were no issues
  • Established ongoing systems for reviewing lines and devices and making changes
  • Merged three separate mobility accounts into one
  • Established and now fully manage device ordering/procurement, onboarding, offboarding, inventorying and management
  • Managed unused devices, including security “wiping” and reassignment or sale
  • Began managing invoices and providing proper coding for the right programs
  • Provided expert help desk and troubleshooting assistance to CAP team members
  • Developed and helped implement better Cybersecurity practices and monitoring
  • Initiated ongoing development and implementation of Mobile Device Management best practices

The Results

While Grudi Advantage and Grudi continue to work with CAP, the work and assistance performed to date have had a significant impact on the quality, efficiency and cost-effectiveness of its mobility services, including:

  • CAP now has an effective Managed Mobility solution in place, saving much time, money and stress while improving its functionality.
  • CAP is enjoying an average monthly savings of $6,695.
  • CAP’s savings from July 2022 through December 2022 were $32,250.
  • Since implementing the Grudi Advantage solution, savings have been $52,335.
  • CAP will save an additional $80,000+ in 2023.

  • Invoices and charges are properly coded for 100% accuracy to make sure they are going to the right departments and programs.
  • Grudi’s help desk and troubleshooting are eliminating frustrating issues and problems and saving time for CAP staff.
  • Procurement, onboarding and offboarding systems are in place and being managed by Grudi, adding efficiency and enhancing security.
